FLOE Lift Selection Guide

Boat Lift System Selection Guide
The use of this boat lift selection guide can be extremely useful in
determining the proper boat lift and boat lift accessories
to best suit your needs.

1. BOAT LIFT CAPACITY SELECTION:
Determine total boat and motor weight with fuel and accessories. If unknown, estimate at this time and confirm actual weight before ordering.
Estimated Boat Wt.: ____________ Actual Boat Wt.:_____________

Each boat lift beam has equal lifting capacity. For instance, each beam on a 3200-lb. boat lift is capable of a maximum of 1600-lbs. Because the majority of boat weight is generally towards the rear, the total boat weight should never exceed 85% of the boat lift capacity. For example: The maximum boat weight for a 3200-lb. lift should not exceed 2,720 lbs.

Boat lift selected: _____________

2. BOAT LIFT WINCH SELECTION FOR NON SCREW-DRIVE BOAT LIFTS:
Circle your preferred lift:

MANUAL WHEEL__________ DC ELECTRIC WINC __________

DC Boat Lift Winches come standard with a wired remote unit, a battery box and tray, a limit switch, and the connection panel to enable you to add the optional wireless remote and lighting packages. They are recommended for boat weights up to 3000-lbs.

If DC Winch was selected, is a protective vinyl winch cover desired?

YES__________ NO___________

3. BOAT LIFT BUNK SELECTION:
Check your preferred boat lift bunk system:

____ CRADLE PAD / PIVOT BUNKS
____ FULL LENGTH BUNKS (select this for all VSD-6000 Boat Lifts & larger)
____ PONTOON FULL LENGTH LIFT BUNKS
____

4. BOAT LIFT GUIDE-IN SYSTEMS: (optional)
Although boat lift guide-in systems are optional, they are strongly recommended to reduce boat scratches and to aid the driver while entering or exiting the boat lift. Determine your needs and check the preferred system.

Boat Lift Guide-In System Preferred:
____ Vertical Guides (single) - two pair recommended
____ Vertical Guides (double) - two pair recommended
____ Full Length horizontal guides with bumper (carpet over cedar)
____ NONE

5. BOAT LIFT MOTOR STOP: optional
Recommended for I/O and Outboard motor boats. A motor stop makes it easy to consistently position your boat and helps prevent driving too far into the boat lift.

YES________ NO________

6. BOAT LIFT CANOPY SYSTEMS: (optional)
Boat lift canopy systems are strongly recommended to protect your investment. Canopies keep the rain out and the damaging sun rays off. Determine the overall length of the boat, including the motor. Allow at least one (1) additional foot of length when determining boat lift canopy size.

Boat Lift Canopy Length Preferred:
____ Canopy for V-2000 Boat Lift 18’, 20’
____ Canopy for V-2600, V-3400, V4200, VSD-3800 OR VSD-5000 Boat Lift

22’, 24’, 26’, 28', 30'
____ Canopy for VSD-7500 Boat Lift 22’, 24’, 26’, 28’, 30’, 32’, 34', 36'
____ NONE

7. BOAT LIFT BATTERY CHARGING OPTIONS AND SOLAR PANEL:
If the boat lift is powered by 12-volt DC, you have three options.

    1. Connect the winch to the auxillary battery (not included) on the standard (2005 models) battery tray mounted to the frame of the lift and operate the lift with the wired remote.
    2. Use a trickle charger to maintain a charge. (Note: charger not included)
    3. Connect your battery to a solar panel. This is the most ideal, user friendly system and is strongly recommended for all boat lifts.

YES________ NO________

8. BOAT LIFT WHEEL KITS:
The Boat Lift Wheel Kit (low speed wheel kit) is designed to enable you to roll the boat lift by hand during installation and removal. Two kits are recommended for 4500-lb. boat lifts, 6000-lb. boat lifts and 7500-lb. boat lifts.

____ One (1) kit
____
Two (2) kits
____ NONE

9. BOAT LIFT SCREW ANCHORS with Tether:
If the boat lift chosen is to be equipped with a canopy system, screw anchors are recommended to help hold the boat lift in place, particularly if the boat lift is installed in an area where high winds may be encountered. For extra severe wind conditions two pair are recommended.

YES________ NO________

10. SCREW ANCHORS with Tether:
If the lift chosen is to be equipped with a canopy system, screw anchors are recommended to help hold the lift in place, particularly if it is installed in an area where high winds may be encountered. For extra severe wind conditions two pair are recommended.

____ One (1) Pair
____
Two (2) Pair
____ None
