Sectional Dock System Removal > Pier Pleasure Docks & Accessories

Remove all accessories and corner sections, placing them on the shore.

Now drain the water from each dock section by removing the drain plugs from the underside of the dock frame. Once the water has drained, replace the drain plug.

With the use of the optional tripod winch, remove each section. (The optional tripod winch will make removing the dock sections easier and will allow the removal of the sections without entering the water.) The winch side shoe attaches to the side of the dock for removal of L sections.

Remove the panel furthest from the shore from the L section. This will reduce the chances of tripping over the winch rope. Place the panel dock surface side up on the shore. Tie the rope to the leg side of the L section then remove the remaining panel and place it on top of the first panel with the dock surface against the first panel. This will reduce the chance of scratching or damaging the dock surface. Also, place your panels from last to first. This will keep the panels with the same dock sections.
Crank slowly to break the suction of the footpads.
Once the L section is almost straight up and down, lift the section out of the interlocking connection. Steady the section, untie the rope and carry the section to the storage area on the shore. Remember, the non-removable surface dock sections are heavier and two people should be used to carry them.

Place on the shore with the dished footpads up and repeat with the remaining L sections. (This will allow you to lower the legs if needed and will also make checking the nuts and bolts easier in the Spring.)

Place the sections on shore from last to first. This way your dock will be in the right order for installation next Spring.

Once all of the L sections have been removed, place the tripod winch near the middle of the preceding section of the one being removed. The winch hook attaches to the center brace of the dock frame.
Lift the panel furthest from the shore and slide it back far enough to allow you to attach the rope to the dock frame. Then remove both panels and place them on shore the same way as above.

Crank the section up slowly to break the suction of the dished footpads. Carefully support the dock section upright and untie the rope.

The tripod winch may be folded back and down allowing you to step over it. If you have another person helping, they may removed the winch for you before helping you to carry the dock section to shore.
Repeat this process for each remaining sections.
